Saturday afternoon, 7th June, we were on the water to support the Galway Bay Swim. Participants must reach time requirements in order to complete the full bay crossing in 5 weeks time. The first time trial was cancelled due to bad weather so there was a big turnout on Saturday. Despite a few days of bad weather leading up to the event, the swimmers got perfect conditions for the time trial.
The Galway Bay Swim is a fundraising swim for the excellent Cancer Care West and to date over €1.2 million has been raised for Cancer Care West by this swim that first took place in 2006. Find out more about the swim here.
Rest up swimmers and we’ll hopefully see you on the water again on the 19th July.
